Hi, I’m Woj.
I’ve devoted my life to skiing and mountain biking. Those sports have been the foremost deciding factors in every single major life choice I’ve made since I was a little boy. Where I’ve lived, which jobs I’ve done, who I’ve become close with and who I’ve loved, my career as a filmmaker… my whole life has been the inevitable result of never giving up on my childhood dream of a lifetime spent in the mountains.
As both a skier and mountain biker, I’m drawn to adventure and driven by the need to know what’s over the next ridgeline, while always prioritizing mine and others’ enjoyment of every moment. Whether that’s splashing into puddles on rainy bike rides (or most of this ski season, lets be honest,) jibbing around the bike park or ski resort with friends, or burying the proverbial carrot of a good night’s rest ever deeper in the backcountry, I’m the frustratingly optimistic, happy-to-be-there friend on every adventure.
That’s partly because of my own love for skiing and mountain biking, but far more it’s because I really, really care that the people I’m with are having as much fun as I do—especially in the face of conventionally bad conditions or difficult experiences.
The real reason this “Athlete Deck” is a page on my film-career oriented portfolio website instead of its own PDF is that I don’t think of filmmaking, storytelling, and being a ski or bike athlete as being separate things—they’re equal, vital parts of my being, totally interconnected and impossible to separate, and I can’t offer the services of any one aspect of myself without the influence of the others.
